Sift the flour, dissolve the yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar, mix the rest of the sugar with the flour, rum essence, lemon or orange peel, vanilla sugar, eggs and then the yeast mixed with the milk.
Knead the dough and gradually add the oil. Knead until the oil is well incorporated and the dough becomes non-sticky.
Leave covered in a warm place for approx. an hour and a half then spread, a sheet not too thin. (until the oil is hot for frying the donuts are left to rest) fry over low heat put with the top in the hot oil.
